This is my second semester, but studying part-time seems to be occupying me full time. I have to find time in my head for a job (ie, to pay the bills).<\/p>\n<p>There is so much available online that its mind boggling, I really don&#8217;t know where to begin.<\/p>\n<p>I am starting an internship at an elementary school and looking for inspiration for lesson plans. Needless to say, there is so so much available out there. I wonder if teachers actually write their own original lesson plans or if everything is recycled.<\/p>\n<p>I am looking for ideas and somewhat wanting to go in the direction of the Reggio Emilia Approach.<\/p>\n<p>In reflection I should start with baby steps and use lesson plans that already exists, as they have been tried before, then I can alter them. I am trying to do too much too early and looking for that wow art project for the kids. But I should just be gentle with myself and start slow. Get to know the kids, see what they can do, what works and what doesn&#8217;t. Besides, I have the teacher to collaborate with so I will be able to get her insightful feedback.<\/p>\n<p>Best thing to do is collect references I have found so far online.<\/p>\n<p>Here is my list, that hopefully will give me a head start:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Art\/Teaching\/Learning blogs<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>http:\/\/adelphiarted.blogspot.com\/2010_03_01_archive.html<\/li>\n<li>http:\/\/snippetygibbet.blogspot.com\/2008\/11\/reggio-emilia-lesson.html<\/li>\n<li>http:\/\/www.whiteoakschool.com\/<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Association of Teaching Artists (in New York State) <\/strong>Hopefully will find one in Canada ?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>http:\/\/teachingartists.com\/<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Lesson Plans<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>http:\/\/<strong>www.lessonplanspage.com<\/strong>\/Art23.htm<\/li>\n<li>http:\/\/<strong>www.theteachersguide.com\/<\/strong>Artlessonplans.html<\/li>\n<li>http:\/\/<strong>www.teach-nology.com<\/strong>\/teachers\/lesson_plans\/arts\/35\/<\/li>\n<li>http:\/\/<strong>www.arttoremember.com<\/strong>\/Content\/Art-Lesson-Plans.aspx<\/li>\n<li>http:\/\/<strong>www.lessonplanet.com<\/strong>\/directory\/art_and_music\/visual_art<\/li>\n<li>http:\/\/<strong>www.brighthub.com<\/strong>\/education\/k-12\/articles\/71201.aspx<\/li>\n<li>http:\/\/<strong>www.kinderart.com<\/strong>\/across\/<\/li>\n<li>http:\/\/www.kinderart.com\/multic\/index.html (multicultural)<\/li>\n<li>http:\/\/www.kinderart.com\/multic\/norval.shtml (Objiway artist Norval Morrisseau)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>ART ARTICLES<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>http:\/\/www.kinderart.com\/across\/index_artsmart.shtml<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Arts &amp; Activities magazine<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>http:\/\/artsandactivities.com\/aadigital.html<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Student publishing<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>http:\/\/www.studentreasures.com\/index.html<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Resources for Teachers<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>http:\/\/www.internet4classrooms.com\/teachertools3.htm#lesson<\/li>\n<li>http:\/\/www.lessonplanet.com\/ (free for 10 days)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am embarking on a new adventure (going back to school to someday become an art teacher).
